This project explores a conceptual stage lighting design inspired by BTS Arirang, developed as a design exercise for a large-scale stadium environment.
The proposal focuses on light as a tool for rhythm, collective movement and emotional amplification, responding to the scale, energy and choreography of a mass-audience concert.
Conceived for a hypothetical stadium configuration, the project investigates how lighting structures, color, intensity and spatial composition can support narrative moments within a high-impact live performance.
This exercise reflects Sophya Acosta Lighting Design Studio’s approach to concert and stadium lighting design, where light operates as both architectural structure and emotional language.

In 2025 we developed our proposal for the ornamental lighting competition around Santiago de Compostela’s monumental setting. Although it was not selected, the project distilled our approach to heritage: night as welcome, built through visual hierarchy, lighting comfort, and respect for darkness and the sky. We share here a small selection of sketches and visuals as part of the process.
